VEGETABLES ...

So I randomly came across this verse in Proverbs (Proverbs 15:17 to be exact) on Wednesday morning ...

- Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. (NIV)

- Better a bread crust shared in love than a slab of prime rib served in hate. (The Message)

Does that mean the person who wrote this Proverb (most likely David) didn't like vegetables? OR maybe they knew love was more important than good meat. OR Is this passage both "pro-love" and "pro-meat"?
