SUPER BOWL XLII THOUGHTS

* Long live the 1972 Dolphins! Still the only undefeated team in NFL history!

* This game goes to show you how much parody there really is in the NFL. All this talk of the Patriots being the best team ever and what not should be put on hold till they actually win the Super Bowl.

* The play of the game - here. When David Tyree came down with this ball after Eli Manning some how didn't get sacked you had a feeling the Giants were going to score touchdown.

* New York's defense came to play. They flat out dominated that game. Just about anyone of their defensive players could have been named the game's MVP.

* Eli Manning had one of the best playoff runs in recent memory. He threw for 854 yards, 6 TDs, completed 59% of his passes and just one INT. I doubted this guy from the first snap he took during the wild card round against Tampa Bay. Well, sorry Eli!

* Why didn't the Patriots attempt 48-/49-yard field goal instead of going for it on 4-and-13 in the middle of the third quarter?

* I could not believe the score was 7-3 for the longest time.

* Not the best Super Bowl ever. My best Super Bowl lists 1) XXV (Giants/Bills), 2) XXXVI (Patriots/Rams), 3) XXIII (49ers/Bengals)

* Was Tom Petty lip-synching during his halftime show?

* The Super Bowl commericials were some of the worst I can remember.
